From a "one-man-band" to leading solutions provider!

Although AOE media is focused on Internet technologies and was founded at the time of the Internet boom, even then the company had little in common with other dotcoms.

In its first decade AOE media has not only managed to establish itself as a solid and yet innovative services and solutions provider, but has also become one of the premium addresses in the Open Source environment. This is born out, not only by an impressive roster of clients, but also by the certificates and awards granted to AOE media GmbH and its directors.

AOE media was founded in 1999 in Tönisvorst, near Krefeld, Germany, by Kian T. Gould. The company positioned itself, initially under the name "AOE Design" as an Internet agency for Web and Graphic Design, Web-Consulting and Hosting.

Kian T. Gould recognized early on the immense potential of Open Source solutions, in particular the Content Management System (CMS) TYPO3. In 2002, his company was one of the first to introduce TYPO3 solutions for its clients. Since then AOE has continued to develop into a professional TYPO3 service provider. In 2008, after only nine years of existence and entirely thanks to its own efforts, AOE media found itself one of the world's Top 5 TYPO3 providers.

Since 2007 the portfolio offer also includes, alongside CMS, Open Source Online Business and e‑Commerce applications. 70 developers and consultants in six different countries supply and care for our global customer base.

2008	The revenue 2008 pushes AOE media GmbH to the position of market leader in TYPO3 CMS solutions.
2010	AOE media opens their first official US entity. AOE media Inc. in San Francisco, California will head up the US efforts from now on.
