KGAL GmbH & Co. KG

KGAL is a real capital asset manager located in Grünwald near Munich. It offers private and institutional investors intelligent investments in physical assets and innovative financing solutions for companies. KGAL needed a service provider who could handle not only the technical implementation of a new website, but also considerably more extensive future web projects such as customer self service portals. AOE media convinced the KGAL communications department that it was the right partner for the job.

The KGAL website had become dated, and no longer made a suitable impression for a modern company. The content management system in use was also no longer up to the task, and needed to be replaced. KGAL wanted a completely new site, with new concept and design, and a community-based CMS it would be able to use for many years. The company also wanted the CMS to offer new interaction possibilities with visitors to the site.One of the requirements for the new website was a complex online publishing of news and events in combination with image galleries.

AOE media provided this functionality with the enterprise web CMS TYPO3, and programmed the extension aoe_events especially for KGAL. This extension contains a calendar of all events and serves as a news module. The image gallery is included in the extension, but also functions autonomously. Technically speaking, the extension links the three areas of News, Events and Images.

Under the “Downloads” link users can get information material sorted by markets, companies or products, as well as press materials. A small shopping cart developed by AOE media lets users order KGAL publications in printed form.

In the few months during which the project was implemented, AOE media responded nimbly to the changing needs of KGAL. The client created the content for the new website during the development phase, requiring changes to the original concepts. AOE media’s web experts advised and assisted, for example by adding new elements to the design by the fischerAppelt agency.
