Amazon.com, Inc., a Fortune 500 company based in Seattle, opened on the World Wide Web in July 1995 and is today the leading online store in the world. Amazon Web Services provides Amazon's developer customers with access to in-the-cloud infrastructure services based on Amazon's own back-end technology platform, which developers can use to enable virtually any type of business. Examples of the services offered by Amazon Web Services are EC2, S3, SimpleDB, SQS, FPS and Amazon Mechanical Turk. More than 290,000 clients are already using the AWS services.
Hetzner Online is an international internet hosting company and is one of the largest data center operators in Germany. The company, founded in 1997, registers and hosts around 250.000 domains worldwide, offers web space and supervises 40.000 dedicated servers in our own high-capacity data center in Nuremberg and Falkenstein/Vogtl. The many redundant connections to the largest German internet exchange, DE-CIX, as well as a direct connection to Telekom, ensure smooth operation of clients’ websites.
