By invitation of the Dallas TYPO3 Users Group, company CEO and founder Kian T. Gould made a presentation to the first US nationwide TYPO3 conference of the comprehensive application possibilities afforded by this Web CMS in the commercially critical area of business web installations.
Background: In the United States, TYPO3 is currently favored by the middle class, small business community. That TYPO3 is in fact ideally suited to major commercial implementation – thanks to its exceptional robustness, scalability and the flexibility and simplicity of its connectivity to existing systems and commercial software environments – is less well known: which is why Gould chose to accent this part of the message in his presentation of successfully-realized projects. In particular the example of Cisco WebEx, where AOE media successfully installed TYPO3 as a full commercial platform, convinced the many corporate deciders in the Dallas audience.
Further participants and speakers at this jewel of a conference were, among others, the actual creator of this worldwide market leader in Open Source CMS, Kasper Skårhøj, as well as one of the chief developers of the TYPO3 Core Development Team, Robert Lemke, who presented the current status of the upcoming TYPO3 5.0 version, based on the newly developed FLOW3 framework.
But it wouldn't be Texas without some typical, down-home leisure. After the many interesting presentations and hours of lively discussion, there was still time left over for the participants to test their skill – or lack of it – at the nearby shooting range, or enjoy a traditional Texan barbecue...
