CeBIT Review

14. March 2011

With a full five-person team working hard every day at the 36 square meter (400 square foot) booth with its two demo stations, AOE media could actually have done with a little more space for their CeBIT debut.

TYPO3, Magento eCommerce and the Apache Solr search solution Searchperience, were all clear crowd-pullers in Hall 6. AOE media stood out from the other – proprietary – CMS providers by being the only exhibitor offering Open Source web solutions at CeBIT’s Webciety.  “We were simply over-run with visitors,” says Steven Bailey, Head of Consulting. “So even the heavy-weights are now starting to treat TYPO3 as a serious contender in Web Enterprise CMS.”

In particular, Searchperience, the new search solution from AOE media, excited a lot of interest. Its speed and enormous range of features could be thoroughly user-tested at the exhibition stand.

The talks given by CEO Kian T. Gould at Webciety, the Open Source Forum, as well as during the tour of exhibiting companies were equally well-attended. About 40 bloggers visited the booth during the Blogger Tour organized by CeBIT in cooperation with the Open Source magazine t3n. “Both the quantity and the quality of visitor interest went above and beyond our expectations,” says Gould, “in fact; the entire atmosphere at CeBIT was fantastic.”
