On Monday the final relaunch of typo3.org, the website of the TYPO3 community, went online without a hitch. Whether for newbies, decision makers or experienced developers, typo3.org is the most important platform around the Open Source Enterprise Web Content Management System TYPO3.
For 1.5 years, several web agencies under the leadership of Kian Gould and Joern Bock of AOE media volunteered or contributed time and financial sponsoring to the project, and a total of over 100 people helped it to its successful completion.
The final effort in Relaunch Week in April 2011 rates special mention, as 26 TYPO3 pros from several countries came together in Essen to do the lion’s share of the work on the new site. Two additional sprint weekends in September 2011 and last weekend were needed to eliminate the last critical bugs and finalize the relaunch.
The revised site offers:

- Search based on Apache Solr
- A new event management extension
- All-new design and updated user guidance
